FAQs About The Rehab Center at Richfield Living

If you are searching for rehabilitation care for yourself or someone your care for, you likely have many questions. That’s why we created this FAQ guide for The Rehab Center at Richfield Living, a short-term rehabilitation center that operates under the license of Richfield Recovery & Care Center.

Here we answer the questions we receive most often from families.

Questions About Richfield Living from Seniors and Families

Q: Is Richfield Living a for-profit or not-for-profit senior living community?

A: We are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. As such, we are able to offer the highest quality of care at the most affordable prices. Through careful stewardship of resources and generous donations, we are able to invest in our community, in team member training and education, in our buildings and also offer financial aid for residents who experience financial difficulties.

For-profit communities on the other hand, direct profits to shareholders.

Q: How many days a week do residents receive rehab?

A: While that answer varies depending on the resident’s individual care plan, rehab services are available 7 days a week at Richfield Living.

Q: I’ll be having hip replacement surgery soon. My surgeon is recommending short-term rehab for my recovery afterward. Is it possible to take a tour and set up my rehab before I have the surgery? I’d like to have everything arranged before I go in to the hospital.

A: Planning for your recovery will give you confidence and peace of mind. That can help alleviate some of the stress most people feel about an upcoming surgical procedure.

At The Rehab Center at Richfield Living, our Pre-Planning Program provides you with an opportunity to do just that. You can come for a visit and tour, meet the team members who will be involved in your rehab, and have all of your questions answered. We can even schedule your transportation from the hospital to our community.

Q: What kind of rooms do rehab residents have at Richfield Living?

A: One of the benefits of a rehab stay at Richfield is that each resident has their own suite complete with a private bedroom and private bath. This allows residents the privacy they need to rest and recuperate.

Q: Will a doctor be available at The Rehab Center or do families need to arrange transportation to the resident’s physician?

A: While residents are free to see their own physician while they are undergoing rehab, we have a doctor who makes on-site visits three times each week. We also have a nurse practitioner who is on-site five days a week.

Q: How many residents do your nurses and certified nurse aides care for at one time?

A: This is such an important question for potential residents and their families to ask! Having ample team members is vital to a successful rehab stay. At Richfield Living, the nurse to resident ratio is 1:16 and the nurse aide to resident ratio is 1:7.

Q: Is aquatic therapy offered at Richfield Living?

A: Yes, we have a heated, saltwater therapy pool. It is used with residents for a variety of rehab needs ranging from knee replacement to stroke recovery.

Q: Does someone at Richfield Living help residents determine if their insurance will pay for rehab and for how many days?

A: We have a full-time team member responsible for insurance verification and is the liaison between our clinical team, residents, families, and the insurance company.

Q: Does Richfield Living have a wound care team?

A: Yes, Richfield Living works with a dedicated wound care physician and nurse. They use the latest technology and proven best practices to try to heal even the most complex wounds.
