Welcoming Our New Administrator Of The Joseph C. Thomas Center
We are excited to announce the selection of Sue Ellen Clark as Administrator of the Joseph C. Thomas Center. Sue Ellen, a graduate of the State University of New York with a Bachelor’s of Science in Therapeutic Recreation, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration in Healthcare Management from Liberty University, joined the team in August, 2019. “Richfield Living is very fortunate to welcome Sue Ellen to the team,” said Sue Devine, Chief Health Services Officer. “Her background as a licensed nursing home administrator and certified dementia practitioner, along with her extensive training and knowledge related to culture change and person-first initiatives, will bring new energy to the Joseph C. Thomas Center. Sue Ellen’s hands-on approach, and true passion for care for others will build strong relationships fostering quality care.”

Sue Ellen also has a certificate in Gerontology from Genesee Community College in Batavia, NY. She has been working in nursing homes & CCRCs professionally for more than 11 years including volunteering, church work, and school internships. Her dedication to resident needs, culture cultivation and customer relations will serve Richfield Living well into the future.

The traditional model of long term care has not changed for more than 70 years, and many continue doing it the same way out of mer routine. I deeply respect organizations that move outside of that task-oriented, unbending structural institution towards true home, true choice, and a flattened hierarchical chart where the resident is the focus. My goal is to support person-directed living as it not only provides purpose and meaning for the residents, it directly empowers the staff to thrive.”
