Richfield Living is proud to announce that both its Assisted Living Centers, The Oaks and the Joseph C. Thomas Center, have been named by the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) as 2017 Quality Initiative Recognition Program Recipients.

“Our team members work very hard to make sure that we are providing genuine, quality care for our residents,” said Debbie Conway, Administrator of The Oaks at Richfield. “We are very proud of this accomplishment and appreciate the acknowledgement at the national level.”

The NCAL Quality Initiative Recognition program is designed to recognize assisted living providers that demonstrate the attainment of two or more of the four NCAL Quality Initiative goals:

• Increase staff stability by maintaining nursing and direct care staff turnover below 40%
• Increase customer satisfaction to 90%
• Safely reduce hospital readmissions by 15% or achieve a low readmission rate of 5% or less
• Safely reduce the off-label use of antipsychotics by 15% or achieve a low off-label usage rate of 5% or less.

Only three assisted living providers in Virginia received this recognition, and Richfield Living’s assisted living centers claimed two of the three accolades.

“The retirement and healthcare industry is constantly changing, however when you look at what’s truly important, it’s making sure that our residents are happy and healthy, and that you take care of your team,” said Joseph C. Thomas Administrator Katie Jones. 

Both The Oaks and The Joseph C. Thomas Center at Richfield are designed for adults over 55 years of age who are unable to live independently and need support. The residences offer 24-hour supervision, activity and wellness programs, health monitoring, medication management, meals and assistance with personal care.
