With respite care at
Richfield Living, we’re pleased to be able to give caregivers a much-deserved break.

Richfield Living’s Vacation & Recovery Stay Program, a respite care option, allows caregivers time to vacation, deal with personal or business affairs, travel or enjoy needed rest from the stress and strain of round-the-clock caregiving. We offer respite care options tailored to meet the needs of individuals and their caregivers, based on room availability.

Offering convenience and flexibility, respite care stays are available in our assisted living residences. For stays lasting longer than 30 days, prevailing rates will apply.

How does the Vacation and Recovery Respite Program work?

Individuals must be evaluated by the Richfield care team to determine individual care needs and complete the necessary paperwork prior to admission.

If the individual is recovering from subacute or short-term rehabilitation, he or she must no longer be eligible for Medicare Part A-related benefits.

Individuals are to check-in for his/her stay Monday through Friday, prior to 3 p.m.

What types of accommodations are available?

Temporary guests have their own private or semi-private room. Each room is attractively furnished and includes a private bath. Housekeeping, linens and dining services are provided. Three delicious meals are served daily and snacks and beverages are always available upon request.

Are support services available?

Our assisted living residences provide a supportive environment where staff is available round-the-clock, medications are administered, and assistance with personal care is provided.

Does this type of care qualify for coverage by Medicare or other insurance?

The Vacation and Recovery Respite Stay Program is an affordably-priced private pay option. This means that Medicare does not cover room and board expenses. We suggest you consult your insurance company, as some private insurance plans cover room and board expenses for assisted living. In addition, Medicare Part B or other private insurance may cover some optional services such as physical, occupational or speech therapy.

To discuss options please contact one of our admission counselors at 540.380.6523.

Respite care stays are also available in our Recovery & Care Center, for those requiring 24-hour nursing care. For information, call 540.380.6555.
